Starbucks on Putney Road?

So - what would people think about a Starbucks up on Putney Road?

Now - I'm somebody who does not shop at Walmart, and will not shop at Home Depot. Because besides their sleazy ethics, they do hurt local businesses.

However - up on Putney road, right now what are you choices for a nice place to hang out and get a good cup? Dunkin Donuts?

I also don't think places downtown like Mocha Joes would really be impacted. When I'm downtown, I'd still go to downtown places -- I suspect few people are hardcore enough Java fiends to drive from downtown up to Putney road (or vice-versa) just for a cup of coffee.

And as stereotypical as Starbucks itself is - Starbucks, from what I understand, is an ethical company (or at least more ethical than most) trying to make good decisions for employees, the environment, and even the coffee farming industry (Starbucks is moving toward free trade coffees, slowly but surely).

Anyways - I don't think we are about to have one. But I'm curious about the idea.

Thoughts?
