There's something thats been bugging me for a while now, and I know its been on other peoples minds.
The Nuke Plant has got to go. I don't want my lights (or bass guitar's amplifier) to go out. So, instead of complaining some more about how horrible Envy is, why aren't people doing anything about it?
Something I've been working on in all my "personal growth" is that freaking out and whining doesn't help. It didn't help the problems when I was a kid, it won't help now. I'm not educated enough in the field of energy to accurately weigh in on what should replace the nukeplant, or what we should do with the leftovers(ship em to CT?), but I do realize that nothing will get done until there is a Really Viable, WORKING solution available-Windfarm, dam, living naked in the woods, whathaveyou.
So perhaps someone can offer to not just help find a solution, but to put it in place?
Here are a few extra little tidbits:
1) How long do we have to get a solution? When is VY relicensed-is it 2012, or earlier?
2) How much will this solution cost? Where will the money come from? Really?
3)Can we get it in place in time?
4)Is it as reliable as the current power grid-which, for all our griping, allows us to have this here website, created, updated and read almost completely on VY-made electricity?
Remember, there are many countries that either don't have any electricity OR only have it at cetrain times of the day. Also, we got by for thousands of years in areas much like Vermont, and including Vermont, without electrically powered anything (don't even start with the whole "our hearts are controlled by electricity" thing).
Do I need an electric bass? no. but I have one.
