Floyd and I were having a brew last night and the "price" of Democracy came up. The idea surfaced that maybe Democracy could be rented off the shelf, like a good movie from First Run.
Let's say some Third-World country is thinking of going Democratic. They would call "Dem is US" and look at just how much Democracy they could afford. Once the deal is cut, advisors and politicians would show up, committees formed, taxes implemented, and shazam... Democracy in the land!
