I've heard that a new "private" club might be opening on Elliot Street as a way for people to have another place to hear music and entertainment.
Why private? Private clubs, like Elks and Masons, can have drinks without having a liquor license as long as certain rules are followed. Same with smoking.
This club, if it happens, will make its money from monthly club dues, selling soft drinks/snacks, and cover charges for entertainment. Members can BYOB and might be able to store belongings in lockers.
