I attended the fourth of july fireworks at memorial park tonight and was very disapointed with the parents in this town.
As a teen I could never understand why sparklers and other small forms of fireworks were illegal in this state, but after attending last night I can see why they were.
After some of the actions or should I say inactions of parents at the park to control there kids while they were using sparklers, I seriously think the things should be banned again. I'm on the verge of thinking that we should require a basic IQ and comprehension test and issue lisences so people can have kids.
A couple in front of my wife and I at the park had four kids with them ages from like 3 or 4 up to about 8. They not only lit the sparklers and morning glorys for there kids but laughed when two of them started trying to hit eachother with the burning things. They allowed there children to run through a crowd of people with burning sparklers showering everyone with sparks. It's no wonder this town and this world is going down hill, when parents wont teach there kids to follow simple rules and safety precautions.
