Amandla is a documentary about the role of song as a galvanizing force in the anti-Apartheid movement. There are many interviews, including ones with Miriam Makeba and the Apartheid hangman.
Lee Hirsch is a Putney School graduate whose film went from the dream of a 19 year old to festival wins all over the world, a national cinema release, a soundtrack with Dave Mathews, and onto HBO /Cinemax. He is a double Sundance award winner and Emmy Award winner. Lee has lectured at schools across the country, including Northwestern University and USC, and has appeared at Carnegie Hall.
