True Stories Within the Department of Corrections

Have you ever wondered what really goes on within the correctional facilities across the state? How about the "newest, high-tech, super prison" in Springfield? Well I have first hand experience.

The actually use of our tax dollars are supporting everything that happens there. Or do you have questions about who is picked to be transported out of state to be "housed" in Kentucky and/or Arizona? I think its about time that someone deliver the whole truth about what goes on behind those "securely locked" jail doors.

For example, the over time that the correction officers got paid for supervising the inmates visits at the Southern State Correctional Facility, came out of the Inmate Recreation Fund. The fund is generated by a portion of the inmates purchuse of commassary, telephone calls, and recycled soda bottles.

The administration claims they want to promote support systems and family contact. Why force the inmates pay for something that is health for rehabilitation? The expence($20,000.00) was noticed by an Inmate Recreation Commitee, and after a meeting of top administration, the funds were replaced.

There are several injustices that I have witnessed first hand and I am more than willing to share my thoughts and viewpoints with all. Please fell free to leave comments or questions in response. Stay tuned for the next unmasking of the Department of Corruption/Corrections and the judicial system.
