With Spring just around the corner, it seemed like time for a new creative venture here at iBrattleboro. Since everyone here has proven they can write, I thought it might be fun to try a little exercise in imaginative writing.

How It Works

Every week, there is a writing assignment. Something simple like "Write a poem about a dog" or "Write a character sketch of yourself as a fictional character."

Assignments should take no more than 20 minutes to half an hour to complete. Some might take you five minutes.

If the assignment doesn't work for you, use it as a jumping off point.

When finished, post your piece as a comment to this story.

Some Tips

Work fast and try not to overthink.

Trust your instincts.

First thoughts are best thoughts.

Write the way you write, not the way you think you should write.

If you like it, it's good.

Ok, are you ready? Here's...

This Week's Assignment

I'm going to go easy on you: Write a poem with today's weather in it.
