Over the past three-and-a-half years, dozens of volunteers have invested thousands of hours toward the dream of building a YMCA facility that would serve the people of the Brattleboro area.
In order to move this project from vision to reality, these volunteers have followed the YMCA of the USA's “20 Step Capital Development Process”. We are now poised to make THE big decision about whether or not to proceed with a Capital Campaign.
The volunteer leaders are hosting a Public Forum about the project on Thursday, May 19th at 7:00 pm in the Brattleboro Selectboard meeting room.
In addition to providing an overview of the research and planning we have completed to date, the forum will provide an opportunity for Bob Stevens, Peter Boemig, Monroe Whitaker and other volunteers on our Site Committee to review our site selection process and seek input on the five sites we’ve determined to be most viable.
As the old YMCA saying goes, "Y's don't build Y's...People build Y's". It is very important that we have the input of all interested parties in order to make the best possible decision(s).
