I have proposed to one of my State senators and to the Vermont Natural Resources Council that "pure Vermont products" be exempt from Vermont sales taxes. "Pure Vermont products" means items made in Vermont from Vermont materials by Vermonters working for businesses owned 100% by Vermonters.
Such an exeption will help Vermonters compete with the low wages of third world countries. It will encourage the startup of business that add to the Vermont community. It will bring cash into Vermont and keep it here.
