History is not kind to the long term legacy of any nation. The idea that somehow to even talk about America falling is contributing to problems is scary! Burying ones head in the sand accomplishes nothing!
The cover of the latest Scientific American I recieved in the mail today says: "Crossroads for Planet Earth: The human race is at a unique turning point. Will we choose to create the best of all possible worlds?"
Scientific American is no ''liberal rag'' as the TV Lobotomized of the planet might like to think.
Every major civilization has eventually run itself into the ground. But this time, the very technology and power that has made this such an amazing last couple of century's also gives us unprecidented power over our own nest and other cultures/civilizations.
Its not just America here that needs to consider a radical change in our approach to everything, China, Europe, India, and more do. But America still is the primary power on the planet and we could still use our dwindling influence to lead the way. To seize the reins and help really create a paradise on earth for ALL of our species.
I have nothing against conservatives, the word ''conserve'' is a noble one in fact. Even if I don't agree with them on everything, CONSERVATIVES could control our country and I think we'd still be ok. But the folks in power now are not conservatives, they are radicals. We are the wealthiest and most powerful nation in human history, with that wealth and power concentrated into the hands of the few, and "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely"
I'm terrified for my children. Liberals, ''progressives'' -- we need to sound our barbaric ''yawp'' and get off our asses and push for a better world!

Billions of people in countries outside the US watch and worry as the world's most powerful nation plunders itself and its helpless targets, creating laws and pandering to corporations, producing cancer-like wasting symptoms within the country as it eats its “seed” signing on to laws and treaties that suck off jobs and industries, handing them to bottom feeding poverty wage nations.
These nations know that the only possible outcomes will be the fall of the USA economically and probably the explosion or implosion of the USA militarily, as the morally bankrupt and corrupt leaders, to distract the still hypnotized people, put into trance by 9-11, from the devastation they are causing economically, ecologically, diplomatically—devastation that is stealing the future of America.
