Perhaps ibrattleboro readers will remember the speech in which George W. Bush referred to his war on the middle east as "God's work."

Now, in a new documentary produced by the BBC, Palestinian leaders are revealing just how deep W's psychosis really is. According to a BBC press release, Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaath told investigators: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"
Palestinian Prime Minister Abu Mazen (AKA Mahmud Abbas) told producers that Bush told him it was his (Bush's) "moral and religious obligation" to establish a Palestinian state.

The White House has denied the allegations that divine guidance has shaped the foreign policy of the United States.

Sane people all over the world have expressed outrage. Leaders of responsible Christian sects have characterized such dogma-charged crusades, based on personal messages from God, as a corruption of Christianity.

Andrew Blackstock, director of the Christian Socialist Movement, said: "History is littered with examples of people doing the most bizarre and sometimes wicked things on this basis. It is a line of argument that can be used to justify anything without ever being verifiable.

"If Bush really wants to obey God during his time as president he should start with what is blindingly obvious from the Bible rather than perceived supernatural messages," said Andrew Blackstock, director of the Christian Socialist Movement, in an interview with British news publication "The Scotsman."
"That would lead him to the rather less glamorous business of prioritising the needs of the poor, the downtrodden and the marginalised in his own country and abroad."

If our foreign policy is based on W's secret messages from God, what other policy decisions might be guided by the President's mystical divinations?
