Misleading reports

Obviously you don't read Spanish or you would have seen that the banners expressed enthusiastic support for the Amerikan president. Reports to the contrary are solely an artifact of the biased, liberal press.

<<Could this be
The beginning of the end for the Bush nightmare?>>
That's sort of like determining when Spring will arrive by depending on a Groundhog seeing/not his shadow. It was going to happen anyway. The big question here is: Who will the Repubs elect as the nominee in '08?
Gary, who would be your candidate in '08?
<<What am I forgetting here?>>
Well, for one thing, the French riots have nothing to do with Jr or the end of his presidency. It just points out the fact that France's society is no better off than any other.

Tell Republican contributors that you have had enough of the actions of the Republican Party and you will not take it anymore.
http://www.hoflink.com/~dbaer/petitions.htm
Boycott Dominos Pizza and call their corporate headquarters at 800-468-4726 and make the demand that the CEO David Brandon get George W Bush to withdraw the nomination of Samuel Alito and nominate a moderate to the Supreme Court or that you will boycott Dominos pizza. Dominos pizza CEO David Brandon supports the antiabortion movement. Pass the word.
Call your Senator and tell him or her that unless he or she votes against Samuel Alito, you will boycott Dominos pizza and they will lose alot of money and that you’re boycotting them because they give money to the Republican Party and the CEO David Brandon supports the antiabortion movement with money.
I call for as many people to call Exon/Mobil Corporation and demand that they set their prices so that people can pay $1.50 per gallon, OR they face a purchasing strike against their gasoline stations which means:No getting auto repairs at an exxon and mobil stations. No buying soda, beer or any other item at an Exxon or Mobil gas station that has a convenience store. No buying of gasoline at an Exxon or Mobil gasoline station.
Also demand that Exxon/Mobil get the Republican party to stop legislation that calls for drilling in ANWAR or you will boycott them for this reason as well.
Ok, the purpose of this appears to punish the gasoline station owners in the Exxon/Mobil gasoline chain. They appear the weakest link in the structure. They don’t have the huge cash reserves that the parent oil company Exxon/Mobil does.
Then proceed to buy gas, get your car repaired and buy convenience items at another brand gasoline station. When Exxon/Mobil capitulates then the others will follow suit.Call or email Exxon/Mobil today! Tell others.

They can't lose what they don't already have. I already don't buy Domino's pizza, how is my existing status as a non-patron going to have any impact? Do you now buy pizzas from them? If no, then how are you having an impact?
I don't think it matters to them if you and I continue to not shop there.

You notice I say to CALL THEM. If many people call them every day demanding the CEO get Bush to withdraw the name of Alito for Supreme Court, they will get the message that you won't buy from them unless they do what we want.

And that goes back to my other point: You won't get enough people to 1: listen and 2: cooperate. That's because 1: people don't care 2: people feel helpless and confused. and 3: they've lost faith in the government. That has a lot to do with the political logistics during the election phase of the process. If a so-called low-down, evil Republican administration can "steal" an election, then why should I bother? There aren't enough real choices out there. I voted for Perot because I wanted a real change from pandering to special interest groups. Perot had no obligations to anyone but the American public, who I felt he would've served better than Clinton.
Take Floyd for example: he buys a Dell computer just over three years ago. At the same time he is actually supporting the Republican administration. How am I supposed to research the actual producer of all the products I buy? Just the same as which political party I choose to support, how do you know the Democrats are really any better than the Republicans? It's like having your choice of beer, Bud and Bud Light. Have you never bought anything from China? How about their human rights abuses? How do you know the gas from Citgo doesn't support the system you oppose? How do you know the ice cream you bought doesn't in some indirect way support one thing or another you don't want to support? Maybe it comes from milk from cows raised on land cleared from a former forest who are now filling the air with methane?
I think it will take a paradigm shift of geologic proportions to change the status quo (e.g. a tremendous advance in science/tech, abrupt climate change, large scale but not extinction level impact etc). And even then how can you be sure things will be any better? You can dream of an ideal status quo, but when you get down to the details, reality sucks. That is not meant to imply I am a pessimist, on the contrary, I believe we can only live in the best of all worlds.

"Fuera Bush" is the title.
An excerpt in espanol reads:
Rafael Santos"
Be sure to get google's translator if you need help.
BTW, your translation means go back to your house. If you had a sign
saying: Yankee go back to your house, I doubt anyone would
understand what you were saying. Your translation is too literal.
Anyway, your interpretation is wrong, as the sign carrier and the
website above show.

Actually, Prof. Kelp, symtmaticsimian's retranslation would mean literally
"Go to a house, Bush!" which I translate as "Take Cover, Bush!!" Which
would be a wise thing to say considering the situation he was in.

The GOP got rebukes in NJ, Virginia and California yesterday. Some papers speculate that the Republican runnng in VA may have lost because Bush made an appearance to support him.
The two party syste is a joke, but it is worth celebrating the defeat of the GOP.
