Much like anywhere else in the world, eating was very much a part of everyday life in Tooth Decay City. There were many cafes, restaurants and tea shops, diners and drinking dens - ideal if you wanted to build up your tooth decay dreadfully and get a douse of gum drop gum disease.
All the gang joined for baked cake for breakfast, licking lunches, decay dinners and sugary suppers. In tooth decay city, the roads, buildings and parks were all made out of sweets. Park rides, swings and roundabouts were lovely to lick.
Chocolate candy bar cars drove on Blackpool rock rocky roads and screeched to a stop at lollipop traffic lights, spurting sherbert exhaust emissions. There were always peanut brittle pile - ups at this time of year - when the sweet manufacturers were busy despatching their lorries causing no end of crumbling cake congestion. Sweltering in the sticky sun, ice - lolly icicles and coconut snow melted and multi - coloured marzipan flowers sprouted in gewy gardens, doused with coca cola watering cans. Glass houses made of liqourice sprang orangeade leaks, sprinkling all over the bubble gum blooms. Raspberry bushed blossomed from wafer biscuit soil and cherry trees dropped their fruit onto the freshly mown macaroon lawn, fertilised only recently with fudge.
In the evenings, the bubble gum boys and girls played hopskotch on the street - chalked with freshly piped icing sugar. If they fell and scraped their knees then their wounds were bandaged with toffee wrapping sticking plasters and cool ice - cream ointments. As the temperature rose, they rested on waffle park benches, baked under the toasting hot sun like an oven. Needless to say, the dentistry business was booming in Tooth Decay City. The more picnics the better.
All day, everyday, local dentists drilled gaps in people's false teeth using cough candy twists, mended cavities with caramel and treated gum disease with gum to the sounds of gobstopper groans, pear drop pain and greasy spoon grimmacing."OOHH ! AAHHH !" CANDY BAR !" the patients cried, polishing off another polo mint and munching many thanks to the kind Doctors.
If it was games that the popping people were looking for - then Tooth Decay City was the place to be - singing sweet lullabys about singeing in the sun.
