I am responding to Jonathan Morse's letter of concern, over protecting our civil liberties. It was published last week in the Brattleboro Reformer.
He vocalizes what a lot of us have thought but never spoke aloud. I have long exercised fears of this administration becoming a dictatorship.
I realize that sounds almost unbelievable as we are suppose to be a democratic society. These things don't happen in the United States. We the people are way too smart to give up all the rights and freedom our past generations have fought and died for, right?
I am not sure how all these little bills and amendments got whisked by us but they did.
I agree with Jonathan, be concerned , and pass along your concerns to your friends, family and anyone that has any fear of being ruled by one man,to stand up and protect what we have left or face the prospect of having none.
Don't ever take anything for granted, each of us has to do our own part, the constitution was written for the people by the people, that's us folks.... call your legislators... Let them know your feelings, stand up and be counted before you lose the right to do so.
