Saturday, May 13, at 10:00 am, the public is invited to attend the official Ground Turning for a new Community Garden in Brattleboro.
The Community Garden site is located on Upper Dummerston Road, 2/10 miles from Rte. 30. Draft horses from neighboring Fairwinds Farm will arrive to plow the land, and there will be food and a dedication ceremony.
The Community Garden was organized by a committee of Post Oil Solutions, a local organization that seeks to promote and implement alternatives to systems that rely heavily upon oil energy.
The land for the Community Garden is owned and has been graciously offered for lease by Brattleboro Retreat Healthcare. Composted manure for the garden has been donated by the Retreat Farm. Please contact Jane Michaud at 257-8533 for more information.
