The results are now official and this year's winner of the Seven Daysies Awards for Best Vermont Blog went to the Vermont Daily Briefing.

The Vermont Daily Briefing by University of Vermont English Professor Phil Baruth won handily followed by Diabologue coming in a distant second, and filmmaker Bill Simmon's Candleblog for third.

The Vermont Daily Briefing provides some of the funniest political commentaries on statewide and national politics. The top of the website starts with...

At 8:25 each morning, the Director of National Intelligence hand-carries a sensitive document to the Oval Office: the Presidental Daily Briefing (or PDB). An up-to-the-moment digest of flawed intelligence collected world-wide, the PDB is then carefully ignored. Somewhat later each day, 450 miles to the north, a far more reliable document is issued.
... and so begins the VDB.

Although Ibrattleboro did not win this year's award, Cathy Resmer of 802 Online did note that Ibrattleboro received at least a dozen votes-along with Vermont Shortbread, Green Mountain Daily, PoliticsVT, and The 8th Nerve.

Kudos to all of you who voted for Ibrattleboro! Although Seven Days Press isn't distributed this far south, it's good to know that Ibrattleboro is regarded as one of the top news & info website in the ever growing Vermont blogosphere.

Congrats to Chris & Lise AGAIN and we registered users PROMISE to deliver the 2007 Seven Daysies Award to you next year!
