Julie Maynard LaFortune, only 44, died of cancer on tuesday, August 1st.
Julie was a friend to me when I first came to town 11 eleven years ago. In those days, she lived above the Elliot Grocer, where I worked nights. She was always funny, and had a keen sense of the absurd and a great sarcastic remark for any occasion. She also had a good heart and truly cared about people. In her way, she hoped for happiness for everyone she knew.
I will miss her. The world is a little less colorful without her in it.
