At Tuesday's Selectboard meeting, Bethany Larson and Jason Whipple of Youth Services presented a plan to create a new mural in Harmony Parking Lot. It would be designed to cover the aging walls along the back (near Green Street) and would involve local artists, the community, and a number of youth in their program that need to do some community service.
Youth Services is looking for artists to submit designs in September that "promote a positive and welcoming image for Brattleboro' for the 60' x 10' wall. The entries will be on display during October's Gallery Walk for the community to vote on and send to the Selectboard for approval.
They hope for a nice dry day on October 21, 2006 to paint the winning design, but if that fails a rain date of October 28 is scheduled.
If you have an idea for a mural for Harmony Lot, this is your opportunity.
