I saw a film on YouTube yesterday narrated by Jean Sheperd, a 60's talk show host (yup, they had talk radio then) about Greenwich Village and how it was "the" place to be in the 50's and 60's. A real bohemian mecca teeming with all sorts of interesting and inspiring people. Then I was thinking that for my generation...(I'm not THAT old)...it was Haight Ashbury in SF. EVERYONE wanted to be there. It was "THE happenin" place.
So now what...it's Brattleboro VT? Asheville, NC?...or (my god) MYSPACE.com? (say it ain't so)
