The news is a little late, but on December 22, 2006 our friends at the Marlboro Grad Center were treated to a visit by a bald eagle. Everyone was getting ready to leave town for the holidays, so we put the photos and story on hold until the new year. Probably just as well, too, to give the eagle some time to get away.
Here's how it happened: Late in the day I got a message from citizen reporter Kathy Urffer. It read:
"There was a bald eagle over the river outside the Grad Center Building today... Pics are attached. It was about 2:00pm and someone Tara from upstairs saw the eagle out the window and took these pics."
Then I went away for the holidays. : ) The pictures are now posted below the fold.

Can you see the bird?

We'll help point out where it is sitting...

We can zoom in a bit for a better look.

Not bad, for an eagle...

Thanks, eagle, for dropping by Brattleboro and posing for some photos. And thanks to the Marlboro folks who noticed the visitor outside their windows.
