The popular PoliticsVT: Vermont's Online Political Network weblog will be shutting its doors and going off-line in the coming days.
Run by the Capitol Bureau in Montpelier, PoliticsVT was founded in January 2005 in response to the idea that Vermont lacked a forum for debate on political issues. Lots has happened since. The blog was a hit with Vermonters from all political perspectives and provided daily updates during the last two legislative sessions.
The Capitol Bureau made this decision some time ago and there are now many other blogs that will fill in gap in Vermont politics. Some sites to check out are:
Freyne Land: Vermont politics, media, and more from Seven Days Press' one and only... Peter Freyne! Hall Monitor with Darren Allen of the Rutland Herald
Green Mountain Daily: Vermont's "Daily Kos"
From the right, I would recommend:
Green Mountain Politics: From Martha Rainville fame (or Julie Waters for that matter), Christopher Potter Stewart's news, views, and more
She's Right: Because Charity Tensel is one of the coolest conservatives I've ever met!
If you have others you want to recommend, by all means do so. Other than that, farwell PolitcsVT!
