This hasn't been noted here yet, but the Herald has ended the Sothern Vermont Bureau and with it, Dan Barlow's job.
This is a double pity as man relied on the Herald to fill in the gaps on many stories. Barlow often covered things days before the Reformer caught wind of it and because he knows the area tended to be more thorough and make fewer mistakes than the Reformer seemed to on a fairly routine basis.
The media landscape keeps changing, but this is a loss in more ways than many.
