On Saturday, April 7th, The Loft continues it's world music series with a concert featuring Euphony Groove.
The group is an acoustic music collective formed in 2000. “Euphony” (wellness of Voice) and “Groove” (rhythm that repeats) describe the musical strategy: music can make us well, over and over again. The group borrows from around the world to create music that is at once jubilant and contemplative, in a tonal and timbral adventure.
For this performance, original members Fred Stubbs (Turkish ney flute), Thomas Brett (Chinese yang-qin dulcimer) and Todd Roach (Middle Eastern and North African hand drums) are joined by Stuart Wright (drum set, percussion) and Kevin Germain (oud, strings) for an evening of modern musicians playing traditional instruments creating an original sound.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission for the event is $8.00. Children under 10 are free. The Loft is an old factory space located on Cotton Mill Hill in Brattleboro, Vermont. Reservations are suggested! The Loft is handicapped accessible, please call in advance to make arrangements. For more information or directions call 802-380-6360 or email loftarts@yahoo.com.
