Brattleboro’s Creamery Covered Bridge closes to all traffic on Monday, May 7 for final completion of this project. The bridge may close for up to three weeks on Monday thru Friday but remain open on weekends. Pedestrians should not plan on using the bridge during the week, although it may be open at night some of the time. The bridge must remain totally closed for several days for painting and treatment of the wood.
Remaining work includes cleaning, wood treatment, and painting, plus installation of fire detection equipment. The contractor must also remove work platforms under the bridge and complete final cleanup and restoration. For questions on this project please contact Brattleboro Public Works at 254-4255.
