Town Manager's Office sent this out Friday afternoon:
"Having received calls from citizens disagreeing with the Town Attorney’s original analysis that the April 17 vote on Selectboard goals passed with a vote of 2-1-1 (2 in favor, 1 opposed, and 1 abstention), after further review, the Town Attorney found that Title 1, section 172 does provide direction that approval by a majority of board members (3 in the case of our Selectboard) is required for a motion to pass. Thus, the Selectboard goals voted on at the April 17 meeting failed. The Town apologizes for any confusion arising from this occurrence, and thanks all those who helped to inform us of the error."
