Very sad to hear of Harold's circunmstances. This is one of those rare times I regret the simple and largely moneyless life I lead. The Spiral Shop has one of the most unique and beautiful arrays of sculptural, artistic and found objects and works. The presentation alone is extraordinary. What must be at least a couple acres of the most enjoyably fascinating grounds. One of the richest creative of constructs. I hope people will stop by there.

Another Quirky Magical Roadside Attraction Disappearing

That is a double shame as the Spiral Shop was such a fun quirky place with so much to experience at each visit. It's a great place to visit with kids of any age and I regret my nephews will not get to see it before it goes.

It is a classic wacky roadside attraction that many of us love(d) to stumble upon and as we continue on our relentless trajectory towards uniformity and bland, corporate chain franchise hell it is something all the more precious as it becomes increasingly rare and special.

Good wishes to Harold and to Mason who did the glass works.

My husband and I drove by the spiral shop yesterday and we both said how much we miss the store and grounds. We used to go there just to take the path through the woods and chat with Harold. We were there one day and expressed an interest in Mason's glass work and Harold told us we had to check out the Galaxy piece mason made. He took us into his living quarters and showed us one of the most amazing pieces of stained glass. It's a huge globe of cobalt blue with all of the planets and stars on it(my description does this piece no justice)
I always loved the fact that Harold adored every piece he had in his shop and had a story for each one. My husband and I have bought our birthday gifts and annv. gifts for each other there. Our heart goes out to Harold. Thank you so much for letting us know about the closing. I'm glad we will all have a chance to experience the spiral shop one last time.
