I was talking to a friend the other night about how far afield we'd gone from where we thought we'd be at this age. Out of this convo came the question, "What did you want to be when you were a kid?" Which then went on to how many people actually ended up doing what they wanted as children, for whatever reason. I can only think of one person to my knowing who grew up and took the career they'd had childhood dreams of -my brother who, from the age of five wanted to be a cop.
So my question is, what did you want to be, did you ever get to do it and does it still matter to you?
Just for the record, the first thing I wanted to be was a nun.
