NEYT and Sanctuary: Playwrights Theatre have teamed up to bring Brattleboro a Performance Writers Lab.

What is it?
The Lab’s purpose is to provide a positive, constructive forum where stage, screen and performance writers can develop new plays, screenplays, video scripts, story theatre, or other scripts.

The only requirement for work developed is that it be specifically designed for some sort of performance.

Who can join?
Any local teen or adult writer is welcome to become a “regular” at the Lab.

There is no limit to the number of new writers allowed to participate.

What’s the Lab format?
Writers bring in 5-10 minutes of work every week. A pool of actors and readers attends and will read your work.

Feedback from the group is possible, with the writer in control of its nature.

At each weekly Lab meeting we will work on anywhere between 3-7 projects-in-progress. The Lab meetings are moderated to make sure they are balanced and fair.

How much?
The Lab is free of charge. No commitments are required of the writers or performers; the work resulting from the Lab remains the private property of the writers bringing it in.

How do I enroll?!
Send email to Bob Jude Ferrante (bobjude@sanctuarytheatre.org). Enclose a short description of the first project you plan to bring to the Lab.

That’s all you need to do.

You’ll receive email notification of the time for your first slot; the Lab will begin meeting in just a few short weeks.
