Have you checked "Are You There God? It's Me, Fake-Rob Williams" today? In the most current post, Fake-Rob takes blogger Philip Baruth (of The Vermont Daily Briefing) up on his offer to create a "bold and courageous" series of nude photos of him.
The Fake-Rob blog is pushing the envelope of what some people consider seemly political discourse. It's certain ticking off the folks at Vermont Yankee.
But is it fair and balanced?
Not at all. It is home-made satire, and satire always has a point of view. Satire talks back to people who would rather dominate the conversation themselves and who can normally afford to do so. Satire may be rude but it is healthy for societies--maybe even necessary for societies. That and it's sometimes funny.
