As a resident and tax payer of the town of Vernon and a concerned citizen, I would like to know why the selectboard keeps going into "executive session" regarding a police officer's personnel issue that may be "detrimental to the person and the reputation of the town". You can find this on the town website and one night they went into a closed session twice each time being quite lengthly.
I feel that the people of Vernon should be told what is going on if there is something as serious that is causing them to do this.
We have gone through Doug Fletcher and the embezzlement, Terry Parker and the use of Vernon computers to access information from the Town of Brattleboro and also years ago the Randy Wheelock situation.
It seems like there is something going on here that the residents and tax payers need to know about if it is as serious as they are making it look.
If anyone knows anything, please post. Even the Reformer hasn't said a word about it and they are usually the ones to "break" the news.
