We have received word that Brattleboro Selectboard member and incumbent candidate Dora Bouboulis is officially ending her 2008 campaign for a one year seat.
Her statement is below.
The prospective candidate list for the one year Selectboard position now consists of Spoon Agave, John Allen, Kiah Coble, Jesse Corum and Ian Kiehle.

"I have decided to withdraw my candidacy for the Selectboard. This decision comes after long hours of considered thought. At this point in my life the stress and pressure of being on the Selectboard have been overwhelming and it is time I take a break. I have tried all year to look at each agenda item on its merits and listen to all points of view. It has been difficult to find myself in the middle and often casting the deciding vote.
I will continue to remain active in town government as I feel there is much yet to be accomplished. I would like to thank all of the people who have supported me throughout the year. Their words of encouragement and participation are much appreciated. I have learned a great deal from my experience on the Selectboard, which will serve me and the community as we go into the future.
