You are breaking records.
According to our server stats, iBrattleboro had 59,663 visitors looking at 262,000 pages in March. This is up from February (54,592) and January (54,530), and continues a trend of steady growth.
One of the great things about these numbers is that iBrattleboro grows by word of mouth and personal recommendations. This isn't a temporary boost caused by quick promotions. It is genuine usefulness of the site. (It's a bit like the Moon Pie - sold for nearly a century without any advertising.)
Back in October, we showed our stats to the AP Managing Editors Conference in Washington DC and there was an audible gasp in the room.
We're really proud of the way individuals and organizations are finding ways to connect with one another with new columns and features. The Brattleboro Police Department really got things rolling with "Ask-A-Cop" last summer. Since then, readers have been treated to all manner of local expertise:
Police Beat with Terry Martin
Rescue, Inc.'s Vital Signs
Cheese Snob Wendy's Cheese Chat
Cartech's Ask a Wrench
Julie Beard's Foodie Forum
and now The Brattleboro Fire Department Column, and Ask a Broker with Steven K-Brooks are getting underway. Send them all questions!
The Brattleboro Community Brain Trust, our local wiki, has also expanded with new documents, maps, photos, history, and more. We have original Mazes by Emma each week, BrattleBarter and BrattleRide, and a business numbers page with the latest from world markets. You can track the price of gold and silver all day long.
You've written over 9,000 stories and 47,000 comments. Nearly 1,700 people have registered to contribute since the site began in 2003.
Thank you all, and pat yourself on the back for making iBrattleboro one of the most popular websites in the region. Your stories and comments are being read by more people than ever before.
Area businesses interested in being seen and remembered by all these wonderful readers and writers should send an email so we can get you an affordable, color, clickable ad as soon as possible.
