 Alicia Ostriker, a major American poet and critic, will read at Brooks Memorial Library in Brattleboro, VT., Thursday, May 15, at 7:00 PM. Ostriker’s most recent book of poems is No Heaven, described as powerful…delicately balanced” in The Southern Review, and “deeply compelling” by Maxine Kumin.
Ostriker has published eleven volumes of poetry, including The Volcano Sequence and No Heaven. Her poetry has appeared in The New Yorker, American Poetry Review, The Atlantic, Paris Review, Yale Review, Ontario Review, The Nation, and many other journals and anthologies. Twice a National Book Award finalist, she has also received awards from the Guggenheim and Rockefeller Foundations, the Poetry Society of America, the San Francisco Poetry Center, and the Paterson Poetry Center, among others.
Ostriker lives in Princeton, NJ and teaches in the low-residency Poetry MFA Program of New England College.
