"The Art of the Telephone Interview"

Bob Parks, a local author and freelance writer, will teach participants how to get the most out of a telephone interview, with suggestions on how to engage your subject and how to navigate the evil receptionist. The workshop will cover the thorny issues of disclosure, using quotes, "off the record" information, note taking and much more. Phones will be provided for mock interviews with the likes of Enron executives, it should be lively!
The Media Mentoring Project (MMP) is in its third year promoting media literacy and community participation in local media. The MMP free workshops help Windham County citizens get their voices heard in local media-- covering topics like how to construct an effective press release, writing a letter to the editor, an opinion piece or a compelling lead. Workshops also address general media literacy issues.
