    Where to Watch Inauguration?
    Tuesday, January 06 2009 @ 03:17 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: Tego

Questions & AnswersI would like to watch the inauguration in community, meaning come into Bratt and watch it on some big ole public wide-screen tv with others. Are there any venues in town that plan to have gatherings for the inauguration?

I believe the Library is looking at doing a public viewing.

If you're like most Vermonters you may want to think twice about watching the inaug on one of the "Big Ole Widescreens".

You might want to practice your environmentalism like a good Obama-ite and listen to it on the radio.

Uses much less energy. He'd probably appreciate that.

I like the radio idea. A smart radio station could advertise the power
savings and greeness of their coverage.

TV's have become too large for my tastes, anyway. Newscasters and
advertisements should always be smaller than the person watching them.

HBO to air inauguration opening ceremony entertainment
    Authored by: Floyd on Thursday, January 08 2009 @ 06:28 PM GMT+4

HBO has secured broadcast rights to the opening ceremony of the inauguration proceedings from the Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 18. Both President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will attend and several big-name entertainers (some yet to be confirmed) including Elvis Costello and Sting are expected to perform.

HBO will make its coverage free of charge to basic cable or satellite subscribers. TV trade publications reported Obama's Inaugural Committee went with HBO - much as Bill Clinton's committee did in 1993 - because coverage would not contain commercials.

What about viewers without cable? The major networks are expected to have access, too, though, but it was unclear yesterday how much they'll be able to air.

Elvis Costello and Sting are both confirmed to play at US President-electBarack Obama's forthcoming inauguration concert on January 20.

It is also rumoured that Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder and Barbra Streisand are set to appear at music events in Washington in support of the Democrat.

Sam Moore will join Costello and Sting at Obama's Official inauguration Concert at the Harman Center of the Arts in Washington DC on January 20.

Celebrity guests at the event will include film director Spike Lee, Anne Hathaway, 'The West Wing''s Richard Schiff and 'Desperate Housewives' star Marcia Cross, reports BBC News.

    Where? The Latchis 4!
    Authored by: annikee on Monday, January 19 2009 @ 10:36 PM GMT+4
Just got this from Gail @ The Latchis:

    Greetings Friends, near and far,

As the nation moves forward tomorrow with the inauguration of Barack Obama, we invite you to watch this history in the making at Latchis 4 on our 8 x 10 foot screen. We’ll power up around 10:00 a.m. and the broadcast will be on all day. Feel free to drop in and out throughout the proceedings.

Best guess is that the Brattleboro Union High School Band will be making their star turn in the 4:00 hour.

An 8X10 screen's a good vantage point! Thanks, Gail!
