In response to the popular reception to this workshop last year, Post Oil Solutions is offering two Garden Planning Workshops this February. The first of these will be held on Sunday, February 1 at 1:00 PM, in the community room of the Brattleboro Savings & Loan, 221 Main Street (please enter from the rear).
This workshop is intended for the intermediate gardener, who has been doing some gardening in the past, and would like assistance in planning this season's garden. Participants are advised to come with ideas of what they would like to grow and, on the basis of these, will receive advice on such matters as spacing, soil content and preparation, complimentary plants, raised beds vs rows, sun and shade needs of different vegetables, as well as other concerns.
Robert King, Post Oil Solutions garden consultant, will lead this workshop. Robert has worked with many “master gardeners” over the past 40 years. His interests include sustainable agriculture as found in Rudolf Steiner’s Bio-Dynamic scientific/organic methods, Shaker agriculture, and low-tech appropriate technology (including hand tools).
The fee for this workshop is $5/$10, with no one refused. Pre-registration and payment are required, however, as space is limited: 802 869 2141. Light refreshments will be available.
