Mindful Reflection on Teaching-Learning Situations
Reflecting on our experiences allows us to learn from what we have done and are doing. Reflection becomes a powerful tool when we move from simply thinking back on what happened to mindfully investigating experiences in a comprehensive four-step process.
By entering into reflection with other educators during this course, we become more engaged with and committed to the reflective process. Moreover, mindfulness meditation practice seamlessly complements the reflective process. They work together to access multiple layers of intelligence and understanding when reflecting on one's experience.
During these six weeks, we examine the reflective process and four stages of interaction with any experience in order to learn from it. We share experiences in educational settings in order to practice being in the moment and learning from whatever is arising. As a community of educators, reflective practitioners, and meditators, we fine-tune the skills of reflective practice in order to more deeply understand our lives in the field of education.
