This Sunday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Vermont Insight Meditation Center sponsors a day of meditation practice focusing on "Finding Wisdom in Uncertain Times."
The truth is that we live in uncertain times and that we suffer when we believe the stories that arise due to these conditions. Yet this very place of discomfort can be the ground for our awakening, just as it was for the Buddha 2,600 years ago. Join us for a day of meditation, inquiry, and inspiration. Learn how to use uncertainty as a vehicle for finding the clarity, wisdom and compassion that lead to freedom from suffering.
Jack Millett and Claire Stanley will teach this retreat. They are co-founders of Vermont Insight Meditation Center and have both practiced Insight meditation for over 20 years. They have been teaching in the New England area since 1995. Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, and Carol Wilson have been their primary teachers at Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts.
Open to beginners and experienced meditators, this retreat day consists of sitting and walking meditation, and includes meditation instructions. There will also be talks and discussions about the meditation practice and its application.
The retreat takes place at Solar Hill, 229 Western Avenue, Brattleboro in Neighbors' Hall. Chairs and cushions are available or bring your own. There is a short break for lunch. Each person should bring her/his own lunch. Tea is provided.
