Animation lovers will once again get their chance to vote for the top animation in this year's Best of the Sevincer Animation Festival. For the last four years, the organizers of the festival solicited animations from around the US and the world. The winners of the past festivals (as determined by audience ballot) include competing entries from graduate students from RIT, University of Southern California, Cal Arts, Royal College of the Arts, London, as well as undergraduate work and from independent animators. In some cases animations represent a Master's candidate's thesis work.
The animations are of every type. While some were created strictly on the computer, others were created using paint and ink. Still others utilized stop-animation. "Our only real criterion for selection is quality" said Rolf Parker-Houghton, festival organizer. "If it's great, we want it".
Something else the organizers want is to give young animators a chance to have their animations up on the screen. Every year animations from young people, primarily from Vermont, are shown in a screening that precedes the main event.
One fun feature of the Sevincer Animation Festival is that each audience member receives a ballot that allows them to vote for their three favorite animations.
The Sevincer Animation Festival is named after its founder, Caglayan Sevincer - since deported to his native Turkey. Mr Sevincer lived in Brattleboro, VT for over 4 years. While there, he created puppetry and animations in solo performances, and in collaboration with local artists. He is currently living in Turkey.

I have a free ticket for the first two people who can help at the animation show Friday July 3 at the Hooker Dunham at 7:30 and or 9 sharp.
My brother who has been a ticket taker in the past, has informed me that will not be able to this year.
My wife who has helped in the past, will not be able to help as much as our boy is prone to the melt downs that 2 1/2 year olds are prone to near their bedtime.
What would you have to do ?
Wait at the door and take people's tickets. And then enjoy the show.
What you would miss of the show is
Perhaps one of the youth animations.
Two people needed.
Thanks in advance
