Strong Coffee Stage and Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery will host a 24 hour play festival August 15, 2009 at the Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery. Local Playwrights, Directors and actors, and a few from further away, will conceive, write, direct and perform several one act plays within 24 hours. The festival is a mutual benefit for Strong Coffee Stage and the Hooker-Dunham Theater.
Playwrights & directors will be working through the early morning hours of August 15 and will be joined by the actors for breakfast. The actors will rehearse throughout the day. Performances will be at 7 :00 PM and 9 :00 PM at Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery.
Located in the heart of Brattleboro, VT, the Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery is perfectly situated to serve its primary purpose of developing and supporting the community’s performing artists, musicians, film and literary events, and visual arts.
Strong Coffee Stage was formed in January 2009 and is dedicated to creating professional theater for local and international audiences that is compelling, innovative and challenging. Strong Coffee also brings world class performers to Southern Vermont to teach and perform, and is in the process of developing a mentoring program for area youth who are considering a professional career in Theater.
