According to Steve Barrett of the Brattleboro Department of Public Works, "this crosswalk was installed yesterday on Green Street. A grant awarded to the Windham County Safe Kids Coalition funded the project. Green Street School Teacher Alice Charkes has been the force behind this and other safety improvements in town. We enjoy working with her and other members of " Safe School.""

I saw a bunch of these in Springfield Mass. They had red and white ones. They look very nice though their kind of a cop out from real brick.
Though, in this case the green faux bricks are necessary to bring attention to the cross walk. I'd hate to see a city try and use the technique to actually try and replicate brick.
