As revenue sources in the nonprofit sector become more competitive, it is essential that managers support their stakeholders by striving to make their organizations as efficient as possible through the utilization of best practices. Marlboro College Graduate School and Champlain College have been bringing a series of 10 all day sessions on best practices to the nonprofit community for the past 3 years through the Certificate in Nonprofit Management Program. This March they will be holding the fifth southern Vermont offering of this dynamic program at the Howard Dean Center in Springfield Vermont. The concurrent program will again be held at Champlain College in Burlington Vermont.
The feedback from the four previous sessions has confirmed first-hand the benefits of this program and the importance of investing in nonprofit management training. They continue to provide highly qualified instructors who build upon a rich learning environment that allows participants to gain mission driven leadership skills, refine managerial competence, and build practical know-how to strengthen and sustain their organizations. This successful program has also helped participants who are considering starting their own nonprofit organization.
The southern Vermont location will be held at the Howard Dean Center in Springfield Vermont this spring on the following Fridays: March 19 and 26; April 9, 23 and 30; May 14 and 21; and June 4, 11, and 18. Sessions run from 9am to 4pm for 10 days of face-to-face training. There is also a Moodle component for on-line discussions throughout the program. Tuition for the 10 session program is $1250.
Limited financial aid is available on an as needed basis. For those members of the direct healthcare or environmental sector, the Vermont Training Fund may reimburse up to 50% of the tuition on completion of the program. This is an incredible incentive for those employees of hospitals, mental health centers, first responder/rescue, and environmental organizations. Enrollment is now open and the class size is limited to 24 participants at each location.
