Enjoy local food, beverages, music and dancing. Bring your family and friends. Special guests and live musical performances by:

Also, the Vermont Citizens Action Network (VCAN) will be announcing the winner of the “Solar Panel Raffle.” Come see who will win a home solar panel system valued at $5,000! It could be you!
There will be no charge, however, donations are strongly encouraged. We are aiming to make this a Zero Waste event, so if you can bring your own plate, cup and silverware, we would greatly appreciate it. This event is sponsored by the Safe & Green Campaign, the Citizens Awareness Network and Nuclear Free Vermont by 2012.
While we recognize there is a long, long ways to go before Entergy fully takes responsibility of this aging nuclear facility and that our community will be impacted by it's closing on or before March 2012, we believe it is important to celebrate the enormous amount of work and citizen participation that took place in order to achieve these enormous political and community-led accomplishments. The VT Senate voted 26-4 on February 24, sending a clear message that the legislature and the people of Vermont want Vermont Yankee to close, as scheduled. 15 towns across the state voted over the past week in favor of closing Vermont Yankee on schedule and assisting employees in a just transition. These historic accomplishments became reality primarily because of prolonged citizen participation and legislative leadership. Please join us as we take a few moments to celebrate these exceptional steps forward.
