Brattleboro, VT – (March 4, 2010) – Marlboro College Graduate School will host a free, public lecture by Dr. Chris Martenson at 5:30 pm on Friday, March 26 as part of its MBA in Managing for Sustainability Featured Speaker Series.
The talk, entitled Convergence: Can the Economy As We Know It Survive Resource Depletion? will explore why and how a financial system dependent on infinite growth will continue to create disastrous friction with the resources and ecosystems of a finite planet. He will argue that in order to build toward a future of sustainable prosperity, we need to understand how the macro trends of our economy, energy structure and environment are inextricably linked and break apart the myths we tell ourselves as a society.
