    ArtsThe Arts Committee will be meeting on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 3:45pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room, Ste 211.  The meeting will take place in the Municipal Building located at 230 Main Street in Brattleboro.  The agenda and minutes are attached.

    Town Arts Committee 3/2/10.
    Members present: Kate Anderson, Mary Ellen Bixby, Doug Cox, Hugh Keelan, Gail Nunziata, Barbara Sondag, Eugene Uman, Judy Zemel
    Visitor: Phil Innes


    1. Keelan called the duly-warned meeting to order at 3:45.

    2. The only agenda item was the preparation of the visit of Gov. Douglas on Thursday, March 4.

    3. The plan for the visit:

    2:30 Twilight Tea Lounge. Bixby will have name tags for TAC members. Uman will prepare a mission statement. Keelan will send agenda for the day to Catrina and will make introductory remarks .

    3:00 Nunziata/Anderson will accompany Gov. Douglas to Brattleboro Town Offices where he will meet with Rod Francis at 3:05 and Barbara Sondag at 3:20 Cox suggested that Sondag and Douglas discuss the role government can play in fostering public/private partnership with the arts.

    3:45-5:15 Roundtable discussion, "Arts as Industry/Partnerships and Economic Development," with the Gov. and invited guests. Anderson will facilitate and set guidelines; Bixby will record. Uman/Bixby/Cox will set up. There will be no press coverage. Anderson will work from a prepared list of discussion topics which will be sent to all participants.

    5:15 Cox presentation. A sense of place. Arts dynamic in Brattleboro, Values/Vermont, Specifics of Brattleboro as an Arts location.
    5:45 Windham Wine Gallery reception. Zemel/Bixby will accompany Gov. to reception. The new Board Chair will introduce the Gov. and TAC members. Cash Bar. Nunziata made a most generous offer to treat the Gov. All TAC members will help facilitate introductions. Keelan will arrange for Coop appetizers.

    7:00 Dinner at Fireworks Restaurant. Sondag will make the arrangements with the restaurant. TAC members, the Gov., and invited guests. Zemel will contact Greg Worden, Nunziata will contact Christopher Grotke, Uman will contact Ellen McCulloch-Lovell.

    4. The meeting was adjourned at 5:15. The next TAC meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 3:45 in the Hanna Cosman room.
