MORNING DANCE TO CELEBRATE THE EQUINOX
PANEURHYTHMY, a sacred dance from Bulgaria will begin again on Sunday morning March 21st at 8:00am. Celebrate the spring at the Parking Lot at the Skating Rink on Living Memorial Park. The dancers honor the earth and the cosmos as the circle moves in a progression using simple movements that invoke personal healing and transformation. We dance for the self, for the community and for the earth and all beings.
This practice came from an enlightened mystic Beinsa Douno, (Peter Dunov 1864 to 1944.) It is practiced outdoors in the morning and between the spring and fall equinox in order to maximize the benefits of the electromagnetic energies of earth and cosmos and is considered a Perennial Wisdom Tradition. The dance lasts about 50 minutes. The teachings imbedded in the gestures and meanings of the dance can reach people of all faith and spiritual traditions. The simple joy of doing this dance is right for anyone interested in opening the heart to love wisdom.
Now in it’s 16th year Paneurhythmy will continue at 8:00 am on Wednesdays and Sundays at Living Memorial Park until the fall equinox. Taught by Rupa Cousins who has been teaching and leading Paneurhythmy for over 15 years. In addition to dancing twice weekly in Living Memorial Park, Brattleboro, she has taught the dance in Bosnia, Macedonia and Turkey as well around the United States, at Rowe Conference Center, and with her teacher Ernestina Staleva, at Omega Institute. Rupa is also a teacher of the Alexander Technique and Rubenfeld Synergist in East Dummerston. Contact Rupa at 387-5276. Free!
