The “By the People: Brattleboro Goes Fourth” citizens committee will hold a public meeting Wednesday, March 24, to discuss plans to produce the town’s July 4 celebration.
The group, working cooperatively with the town Recreation & Parks Department, will gather at 7 p.m. at the Gibson-Aiken Center at 207 Main St.
Plans include a downtown parade that, because this July 4 falls on a Sunday, will take place in the early afternoon so not to conflict with religious services. The march will be followed by free public festivities and fireworks at Living Memorial Park.

Just curious: are the BaBBlers involved in the organizing? BaBB's mission statement describes it as an events-oriented body, so it should be able to contribute some expertise.

It's a grassroots organization putting on the parade, but yes, BaBB folks
have been participating.
I've seen the director, board members, and you can even count me in as
representing the Promotions Committee - though I think of myself as
representing more than just BaBB. I try to spread information about the
parade to everyone. : )

Thanks, Chris, for the clarification. Since the original announcement noted assistance from Parks & Rec but didn't mention BaBB I assumed it wasn't participating in the planning.

It's grassroots, so there are lots of people, and many wear different hats.
in town. BaBB is a part of it, the Town is part of it, many individuals
from a variety of organizations are interested.
I'm there for BaBB, for iBrattleboro, for the Estey Organ Museum, etc.
