    Afraid for America
    Sunday, June 13 2010 @ 02:55 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: AlanF

OpinionI am afraid for America as never before. It just blows me away how the Democrats in Congress have given their blind and unwavering support to the agenda of the most Socialist, Marxist leaning President in the history of the United States. A man who has surrounded himself with, and takes his cues from avowed radicals and communists who seek to transform America into their vision of what America should be.

I am afraid for an America that can elect a man whose true history we knew so little about, to be the President of the United States. A man that was never properly vetted by the Democratic Party, and never was fully challenged by a corrupt media. A man that has yet to prove beyond all doubt he is a natural born citizen and thereby eligible to be POTUS; a man that has gone to great lengths to conceal his past associations, university records and writings; a man that has used more than one Social Security number. A man that imposes his will on the American people despite opposition by the majority. A man that has put his country into insurmountable debt, a man that has absolutely no respect for the US Constitution or the values that made this country the greatest country on earth. To put it bluntly, he is not one of us. Nothing in his Muslim upbringing, his early education in an Indonesian Medrassa, which requires Indonesian citizenship to attend, would suggest he possesses a core understanding of what it is to be an American.

This is a frightening proposition with far reaching consequences that may forever transform America into something our founders and fore fathers fought and died for to prevent.

The only way we can stop Obama and his radical agenda is to vote out of office all the politicians who have supported him lock stock and barrel. This would include Senator Patrick Leahy, Senator Bernard Sanders and Congressman Peter Welch. Vermont is a tiny state but we, the residents of this beautiful piece of America, can make a huge statement in the upcoming November elections. We have an opportunity to tip the balance of power in the Senate by voting out of office one of the most ardent of Obama supporters, that being none other than the not so honorable Senator Patrick Leahy. As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee, Leahy has utterly failed all Americans from coast to coast for his failure to intervene, to stand up and demand that both Republicans and Democrats alike abide by the laws of this country. Instead, he has demonstrated time and again his extreme partisanship in failing to challenge members of his own party when they step over the line. He has different standards for each party. His performances over the years in vetting nominees for the Supreme Court are glaring examples of his inability to be a fair and impartial Chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee. Senator Leahy has been deeply embedded in the political culture of Washington DC for the last 36 years. He is 70 years old, a time when most people are retired and yet, he wants us to send him back for another six years of the same ole, same ole. The time has finally come for Vermonters to retire Leahy and Welch in November. We need REAL CHANGE NOW.

I invite you to view the following clips and then decide for yourself if it’s time to be afraid for America.

I'm afraid for America, too, but not for those reasons.

Obama is a right leaning corporatist. He was funded by,
vetted and supported by all the usual suspects. He's a
politician just like the others. You can't be president
without the blessing of the power structure. Republicans
    voted for him.

He's very similar to George Bush. His policies are only
slightly different. The alternative would have been McCain
(check out where he was born! He isn't a citizen!).

I think time would be better spent putting pressure on
    elected officials to create jobs.

Both of McCain’s parents were citizens which makes him a natural born citizen. He was born in Panama because his father was stationed there. Obama and Bush are night day. For one thing, one is a Muslim the other is a Christian. That makes them quite different. Guess which is which.

Bush is a muslim? Who knew?
But seriously folks, if you have to resort to fairy tales like that to back up
your position, you're in pretty deep you-know-what.

If you disagree, try harder, look deeper, do some research. You won't like what you find.

I think it would be kinda cool to have a Muslim prez. It would prove that we don't just talk the talk when it comes to religious freedom.

    Natural Born???
    Authored by: tomaidh on Monday, June 14 2010 @ 01:35 AM GMT+4
The United States Constitution requires that Presidents (and Vice Presidents) of the United States be “natural born Citizens” of the United States.

However, the Constitution neglects to define the term.

The U.S. Supreme Court has never specifically determined the meaning of "natural born citizen",

It is inconceivable that the Court would fail to find that the child of two US citizens that was born outside the US as a result of their serving their country was not “natural born”.

Interestingly, George Romney (Mitt's Dad) was a candidate for President of the United States in 1968. Romney was born to American parents in the Mormon colonies in Mexico; events during the Mexican Revolution forced his family to move back to the United States when he was a child.

His “Natural-Bornedness” was never an issue.

Please remove the word "not" before "natural born" in the fourth paragraph.

You repeat the word "afraid" several times, from the heading of your essay to sprinkling it through the paragraphs. I find that very curious. Americans have long been known in other nations for qualities such as being fearless and friendly and fair to others, to standing up for equality and finally defeating bitter, vicious Jim Crow, for sticking up for the underdog, protecting the whistleblower, honoring those who were generous and honorable... and all kinds of wonderful qualities that seem to have been forsaken ever since 9/11 when we were urged to "keep shopping" (a shocking proposal that should have raised our ire and toppled that administration...) and recently has been completely drowned out in this whiny world of "I'm scared of Socialism!" "I fear our President!" sort of rant. Start being courageous, fair, and well-informed, please, and be assured that our president is farrrrr from a Socialist. And stop listening to the fear-mongerers.

He wasn't born in Kenya. He was born in Hawaii. You have
NO PROOF that Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

This smear stuff they are saying about Obama reminds me
of the 9/11 "Bush/Cheney did it" conspiracy theory: Every
time someone carefully debunks one part of the theory,
the believers just retreat to the next redoubt and hold the
line there, until they are disproved again. Then they
retreat again, but only far enough to hold another line. It's
a never-ending battle, refuting their bunk. Your Obama
smear stuff reminds me of the 9/11 conspiracy crap. It's
never ending, a waste of time!

I have in my possession my only copy/document that certifies my birth. It is not signed by a witness or any of the doctors who delivered me. It is signed by the state registrar.

But Alan I think Maus is onto something. Information as important as yours must absolutely must get out to the people. I think you definitely should get some signs and march up and down in front of the post office warning everyone. No offense to Chris and Lise but ibrattleboro is too small a forum for this important information, it must go out to ALL the people immediately even those without the internet tubes.

We'll all look forward to seeing you today in front of the Post Office, as a true citizen it your duty to warn all the others. See ya later.......

PS I pick up my mail around noon, so I'll give you a thumbs up at that time!

I'm very afraid that AlanF is getting his information from
Jon Voigt, a fairly decent movie actor but someone who should never be turned to as a source for political or historical information,
    and
Hal Lindsey, a man who believes that the US is doomed to loss of power because he can find no mention of it in the books of Revelation or Daniel.
I'm afraid AlanF thinks that Obama calling for people to serve as active citizens is a frightening thing when in fact it is something the founders intended.

AlanF, this is the internet, don't believe every little video that comes your way, don't believe the crackpots, Jon Voigt, Michael Savage, Hal Lindsey are not reputable sources. I'm afraid you're letting them melt your mind..........AlanF there are plenty of reasons for fear but letting these people take you down a path of fantasy concerns is not good for you. Quite reading this crap.

Chris I really must take exception with your statement that Obama is not that different from Bush. I think he's a far different, and better, person to serve as President. While yes, within the structure he serves, he must consider more than just a liberal agenda, he certainly is far far superior to Bush and I can't even begin to imagine what a mess we'd be in right now if McCain/Palin had succeeded.

Obama has five major problems as president.
    Authored by: tomaidh on Monday, June 14 2010 @ 02:44 AM GMT+4
And none of them is Socialism, Baby!
The first is that he doesn't understand priorities.
The second is that he seems to have little strong conviction on any given issue.
The third is that to the extent he stands for anything, it is for maintenance of a status quo that continues to wreck the country in order to service the greed of a few oligarchs.
The fourth is that he fundamentally does not understand the powers and the role of the modern presidency.
And the fifth is that he maintains the worst communications apparatus in the White House since Jimmy Carter prowled its corridors. In fairness to his communications team, though, he has given them almost nothing to sell.
You try singing the praises of bailing out Goldman Sachs one hundred cents on the dollar, or of a health care plan that forces people to buy plans they don't want from hated insurance vultures. It ain't easy, pal. Yet, on the other hand, Bush and Cheney had far less than nothing to sell when it came to the Iraq war - indeed, they had nothing but lies - and their team handled that masterfully.

If you were a person with a "pre-existing condition" you wouldn't be complaining about health care.
Jimmie Carter put solar panels on the White House;Reagan promptly. ripped them off the White House.
And Carter envisioned that this time in history we would/could be off oil or not as reliant on it
Jimmie Carter ALSO talked of legalizing pot.
Jimmie Carter was/is a good man
But then you seem to have ALL the answers
Why didn't you run for office?

    Jimmy We Hardly Knew Ye
Authored by: Mr. Buddy Love on Tuesday, June 15 2010 @ 12:39 PM GMT+4
Jimmy Carter was challenged by Ted Kennedy, who
represented the disenfranchised Liberal Wing of the
Democratic Party, in 1980, because it was felt by liberals
at the time that Carter had abandoned the liberal core of
the Democratic Party. Carter had roped himself off in the
Rose Garden once the Iranian hostages were seized, and
became fixated on the hostage crisis at the cost of
everything else. It was also Carter who set up the original
shift of US Military Forces to the Middle East from the
Pacific (CINCPAC) and this allowed future presidents, but
starting with Carter, to put more military force in the
Middle East, a problem we have been living with ever
    since.

I know that Carter looks great in revisionist history today,
especially when compared to Reagan and both Bushes, but
when he was president, he was not very well liked by the
liberals. Ted Kennedy's campaign in 1980 was based on
trying to bring the party back to its original liberal fold
that his older brothers had fought for. I remember because
I was there in Washington at the time, working on the
    Hill.

It's interesting that Ted Kennedy went out of his way to
endorse Barack Obama just before he died. He and
Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg endorsed Obama because
they thought he had the best instincts for leading this
country away from the disastrous hole we were in from
eight years of Bush. They probably underestimated how
deep and slippery that hole had become. It's not easy
erasing all the damage: to the economy, to the
environment, to the branches of power corrupted by sleazy
special interests who have locked their tentacles in so
firmly that it will take twenty years to get out of the
mess, not four and not even eight. Obama is damned if he
does, and damned if he doesn't. The problems are so
huge, he can't fix everything alone. It's going to take an
educated voter class, to turn off their cable infotainment
and start learning about global warming, Keynesian
economics and how it works, and what a really healthy
civil society looks like, with access to jobs, health care,
    and transparency in government.

and how did Jimmy Carter (whom I admired before he let the Repugs destroy him) get into this conversation?

Where to start? First of all, Spud is right; Alan is not reachable via
logic, so conversation is pointless. But it's my second point that I
think is most salient here. To wit, that Alan is a deeply ignorant,
stupid person; he knows it, feels badly about it, and takes his rage
out on those he imagines are responsible for his failure. In this case,
it's an imaginary "Marxist President". Alan, it isn't Barack Obama
who is responsible for the fact that you are so poorly-educated that 1)
you don't know the difference between the words "your" and "you're",
    2) you don't know that the word dilemma isn't spelled "delema" (my
goodness, you are just a freakin' embarrassment),and 3) even an
embedded spell-check application can't help you hide your profound
illiteracy. In a democracy, constructive self-government depends on
an informed citizenry, and being informed requires a certain level of
intelligence and awareness. Man up, Alan, and take a look in the
mirror; it's people like you, who compensate for their ignorance with
opulent displays of faux-patriotism, that are the real threat to our
    country.

I'm afraid that there are nutty kooks out there with high
tech weaponry, both inside the government and outside of
it, who might try to kill Barack Obama. The same way
they killed JFK, whom the far left derided when he was
president, because they misunderstood Kennedy and what
he was up against. They said Jack was "the son of his
ultra right wing father who didn't stray like when it was
time in the Senate to censure Joe McCarthy" and that in
civil rights and Vietnam, he was "not doing nearly
enough". Halberstam was writing for the New York Times
from Saigon in 1963 and criticized Kennedy so much and
so often that year that Kennedy considered asking the
Times to edit his writing more. In fact, what people don't
know is that behind the scenes, JFK was working to
withdraw US forces (advisors at the time) from Vietnam
completely. He also wanted to move more forcefully on
civil rights after a sluggish start in his presidency, but got
cut down before he could do this. He DID work against his
ENTIRE administration and the Joint Chiefs to prevent a
strike on Cuba in 1962 which would have led to a global
nuclear war. Only his brother Bob and his speech writer
Ted Sorensen supported his decision NOT to invade Cuba.
And in 1963, against all his advisors except the two
mentioned above (plus Galbraith and George Ball) he
pushed for a partial nuclear test ban to start the long path
toward detente with the Soviets, something NOBODY in
power was willing to do at the time. He also secretly
worked behind the scenes, in documents now no longer
secret which prove this, to work towards a trade and travel
arrangement with Cuba, in the Autumn of 1963.

Obama, like JFK, is a centerist Democrat. Both men share
many similarities, weaknesses and strengths. Both are
rather isolated, although Obama is a little less secure than
JFK at this "1962-stage" of his presidency, in staking out
an independent position away from what Chris Grotke
correctly says are the corporate sponsors. In many ways,
Obama is more beholden to the corporate special interests
than Kennedy was, but only because these corporate
powers have become so much more powerful and
concentrated than they ever were in 1963. It's a LOT
harder to go against entrenched corporate-military power
than it was in 1963. Even so, if a president does too much
to "piss off" this powerful segment of the power sector, he
will be assassinated. Kennedy's tragic death proved that.

I really don't see Obama as being like Bush. Bush was
really intellectually a vacuum; Obama is much smarter,
more like Clinton or JFK. I think it's a mistake to say that
Bush and Obama are very much alike. The tragedy of
Obama is that he KNOWS he should do more, but I think
he also KNOWS the risks of doing everything that he
would want to do. That risk is complete loss of his life and
his presidency. It sucks that our country has come to this
level, but it happened a very long time ago, when Lincoln
was assassinated for doing much the same thing---too
    much radical change too soon.

Why has BP not been nationalized? Why do executives continue to earn 500 percent more than the lowest-paid workers? Why are property rights still soundly enforced by our courts? I could go on and on, but these are examples of "socialism," and without this sort of thing happening, then this administration is not pursuing "socialism.' Health care reform, if you wish to debate that, turned out to be weaker than the health care reform first proposed by Bob Dole, a presidential candidate and a staunch Republican, back in the 1990s.

Can you please address why you are so "afraid"? Try moving to the Gulf Coast and watching the oil roll in. That's a ghastly disaster, made by private companies not wishing to spend money on control features and on Republicans stripping regulations, and it's the only excuse these days for such a dramatic diatribe.

While I agree with Alan's sentiment about America. I don't believe this is something that just happened in the last year. Take a look at the last 20 yrs. Look at how we've squandered the legacy our founders set for us.

Many of the things that are going on now have been gradually coming to fruition for many years. Pat Buchanan has written books and several articles referring to how we are setting ourselves up to have a fall like the Roman Empire.

I'm amazed at the many people that have lived in Vermont for many years and are alarmed at what's going on in Washington. Forget Washington Alan, it's a cesspool. We've been living in a state that's way beyond the country when it comes to having something to be afraid of. What's going on in Washington is just a larger scale of what's been going on in Vermont. It's time to fix Vermont and forget about Washington. Stand on the 10th amendment and tell Washington enough is enough.

Being a Muslim is not at a good start. Gee, why in a year and a half has he not chosen a Christian church to join? I don't know, but maybe it has something to do with his father being a Muslim, and him being schooled in a Madrassa in Indonesia which by the way, requires all attendees to be citizens of Indonesia. Dual citizenship doesn't cut it if you plan on being the POTUS. Go figure if you have the time.

Don't know if I'll get to the RS article, but your premise about presidents is all wrong.

    They do leave legacies.
Without Bush we aren't in Iraq right now - at all. Afghanistan might be at peace and Taliban free. We have an out of control national debt crisis because of Bush's humongous tax cuts for the rich without counter balancing budget cuts.
Without Clinton hundreds of thousands of families and especially single moms would be in better shape. There would be better oversight of industry (including "food inc." - because Clinton/Gore cut the inspectors and guess who didn't bring them back).
FDR left us with social security (thanks FDR!) and the bomb (no thanks!).
The guys are gone, but certain of their actions can linger forever.
Presidents do leave positive legacies too - even the bad ones. Nixon, for example left us with the Endangered Species Act (which his party attempts to uproot at every opportunity) and Justice Stephens the SCOTUS liberal stalwart.

Anyway, I get tired of hearing conservatives say that we can't blame Bush anymore for the state of things. I for one haven't forgotten that they still want to blame Clinton for all sorts of things.

As with Clinton, there's a well funded (by Richard Mellon Scaife and his ilk) cottage industry of bloggers and columnists churning out fabricated and exaggerated stories about the president.
As with Clinton, we have a president who is governing well to the right of his base. Clinton enacted many right wing policies: workfare instead of welfare; reducing the size of government and government spending; reducing government oversight of industry in virtually all sectors; and weakening bank regulations and reduced oversight of the regulations that remained in place.
With Obama we have seen that he has been unwilling to go as far as need demands to clean up the Bush/Cheney mess. He has been totally unwilling to prosecute crimes that cry out for punishment.
Had he seized the moment, Obama really could have gone in a strongly socialist direction and delivered much better economic results than he has, but he's been extremely cautious.
I see no evidence from AlanF to back up his outrageous claims of impending doom.

You weren’t “afraid” when Bush created the Ministry of "Homeland Security".
You weren’t “afraid” when Bush illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You weren’t “afraid” when it was revealed that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, and Rice all lied us into the illegal, unnecessary war on Iraq.
You weren’t “afraid” when Bush spent over (currently more than $728 billion) 670 billion dollars (and counting) on the illegal, unnecessary Iraq war.
You weren’t “afraid” when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
You weren’t “afraid” as thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed or maimed in Bush's illegal, unnecessary war.
You weren’t “afraid” when "Free Speech Zones" (often cages) were set up miles from where Bush was at any time.
You weren’t “afraid” when the U.S. Government was infiltrating and spying on Quakers and anti-war activists.
You weren’t “afraid” when it was revealed U.S. soldiers and the CIA were torturing people, including in former KGB prisons.
You weren’t “afraid” when Bush admitted the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
You weren’t “afraid” when it was revealed that Bush ignored many warnings of the 9/11 terrorism.
You weren’t “afraid” when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed Military Hospital while you claimed you "supported our troops".
You weren’t “afraid” when Bush let New Orleans drown.
You weren’t “afraid” when mostly white people were helped in New Orleans.
You weren’t “afraid” when it was revealed Bush ignored warnings about Hurricane Katrina and the levees.
You weren’t “afraid” when Bush gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.
You weren’t “afraid” when Bush turned Clinton's budget surplus into a gigantic budget deficit.
You weren’t “afraid” when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark, and our debt hit the thirteen trillion dollar mark.
You weren’t “afraid” when Exxon earned more in profits than any company ever, but paid zero U.S. taxes.
You weren’t “afraid” when, using reconciliation, a trillion dollars of our tax dollars were redirected to insurance companies for Medicare Advantage which cost over 20 percent more for basically the same services that Medicare provides.
You finally got angry when Obama decided that people in America deserved to see a doctor if they are sick, but you got angry at Obama, not the insurance corporations and drug companies that wrote Obama's bill. If Obama were white, would you hate him so much?

Illegal wars, killing Americans and Iraqi and Afghani women and children, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you.

But an African-American President taking the first very flawed, very insufficient step to getting health care for all of us?
Hell, no! That's "socialism"! you say, as you depend on Social Security and Medicare.
Socialism for corporations and the rich doesn't make you angry. Only "socialism" by Democrats is "un-American" to you.

Only "liberals" are your sworn enemies.

Perhaps you overlooked the fact that liberals and progressives fought to get us all: vacations, the 40-hour workweek, weekends off, the minimum wage, worker safety laws, child labor laws, the right to vote for women, environmental protections, food inspections, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, to name just some of the social improvements which are hallmarks of a civilized society?

A GOOD READ FOR THE NON-BELIEVERS. BE SURE TO READ THE VERY LAST PARAGRAPH.

Tim Adams, the former senior elections clerk for Honolulu, says President Obama was "definitely" not born in Hawaii, and a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Obama does not exist in the state.

The former Honolulu elections clerk who says President Obama was “definitely” not born in Hawaii and has no birth certificate from any hospital in the Aloha State says he’s willing to testify in court to those facts.

“The things I’ve said, I don’t mind testifying in court,” Tim Adams, the senior elections clerk for the city and county of Honolulu in the 2008 campaign, told WND in an exclusive interview.

“I was working there, and this is what it was. I’m not a lawyer, just a civil servant. I know what I know. I know what I was told by the hospitals and by my supervisors.”

The hottest book in America is the one that exposes the real Obama and all his men (and women)! Get your autographed copy only from WND!

Adams, a Hillary Clinton supporter who now teaches English at Western Kentucky University while he works on his master’s degree, burst onto the scene last week in a WND story in which he asserted that Obama was not born in Hawaii as the White House claims and that a long-form, hospital- generated birth certificate for Obama does not even exist there.

“There is no birth certificate,” he said. “It’s like an open secret. There isn’t one. Everyone in the government there knows this.”

“I had direct access to the Social Security database, the national crime computer, state driver’s license information, international passport information, basically just about anything you can imagine to get someone’s identity,” Adams explained. “I could look up what bank your home mortgage was in. I was informed by my boss that we did not have a birth record [for Obama].”

At the time, there were conflicting reports that Obama had been born at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, as well as the Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children across town. So Adams says his office checked with both facilities.

“They told us, ‘We don’t have a birth certificate for him,’” he said. “They told my supervisor, either by phone or by e-mail, neither one has a document that a doctor signed off on saying they were present at this man’s birth.”

To date, no Hawaiian hospital has provided documented confirmation Obama was born at its facility.

Adams, 45, stressed, “In my professional opinion, he definitely was not born in Hawaii. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that he was not born in Hawaii because there is no legal record of him being born there. If someone called and asked about it, I could not tell them that person was born in the state.”

WND confirmed with Hawaiian officials that Adams was indeed working in their election offices during the last presidential election.

“His title was senior elections clerk in 2008,” said Glen Takahashi, elections administrator for the city and county of Honolulu.

Adams oversaw a group of 50 to 60 employees and was responsible for verifying the identity of voters, especially absentee voters.

He now expects his former co-workers still working in the elections office to say little, if anything, about the nonexistent birth certificate because they fear for their jobs.

“If you’re working in the civil service and you say this, you’re done,” Adams said. “Don’t expect to have a good career, especially since the governor is on the other side. Embarassing them is not good for your career.”

Last month, as WND reported, Hawaii’s Republican Gov. Linda Lingle reignited Obama’s origin on a New York radio show.

“It’s been an odd situation,” Lingle said. “This issue kept coming up so much in the campaign, and again I think it’s one of those issues that is simply a distraction from the more critical issues that are facing the country.

“So I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact and yet people continue to call up and e-mail and want to make it an issue and I think it’s again a horrible distraction for the country by those people who continue this.”

Although the governor now claims she issued a news release stating Kapi’olani is Obama’s birthplace, the actual release said no such thing, making no reference to Kapi’olani nor any other specific location of Obama’s birth.

WND asked Adams about the governor’s assertions about viewing a hospital-generated birth certificate from Hawaii.

“Then where is it? And why all the smoke and mirrors?” he responded. “They could end the controversy by producing the document, and they never have. It doesn’t exist.”

“Why would they say they’ve seen it and not produce it? I don’t know,” he added. “If they said they’ve seen the document, then why not produce the document? There’s no need to put themselves out like that. I can’t even begin to think why they did that except for some kind of political expediency. I’m too far down the totem pole [to know].”

While Adams, who noted he spent nearly 10 years in the islands and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii, says he’s certain Obama was not born there, he also does think the president is indeed a U.S. citizen, since his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was born an American.

He says he merely would like to see the truth come out and have the controversy over natural-born citizenship and presidential eligibility resolved once and for all.

“It’s come to the point where it’s a monster, and it’s time to kill it,” Adams said. “Solve the problem so that everyone can get back to cooperating to improve the country. People have lost sight that we’re trying to make the country a better place.”

WND’s original report about Adams’ claims has already been made into a YouTube video, getting thousands of hits:

To date, President Obama has still not provided simple, incontrovertible proof of his exact birthplace. That information would be included on his long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate, which Obama has steadfastly refused to release amid a flurry of conflicting reports.

The White House has only proffered on the Internet a “Certification of Live Birth” to assert he was born in Hawaii, but that document was available to children not born in Hawaii at the time of Obama’s birth.

Many people remain unaware a child could be born somewhere else and still receive a Hawaii Certification of Live Birth. State law specifically allows “an adult or the legal parents of a minor child” to apply to the health department and, upon unspecified proof, be given the birth document.

“Anyone can get that [Certification of Live Birth],” said Adams. “They are normally given if you give birth at home or while traveling overseas. We have a lot of Asian population [in Hawaii]. It’s quite common for people to come back and get that.”

As WND reported last July, the Kapi’olani Medical Center trumpeted – then later concealed – a letter allegedly written by President Obama in which he ostensibly declares his birth at the facility.

“As a beneficiary of the excellence of the Kapi’olani Medical Center – the place of my birth – I am pleased to add my voice to your chorus of supporters,”Obama purportedly wrote. But the authenticity of that letter remains in doubt. Since WND raised questions about the veracity of the letter itself and its content, the White House has refused to say if the message is real and if its text originated with the president.

Besides his actual birth documentation, documentation that remains concealed for Obama includes kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

You said to make sure to read the last paragraph - so that's the one I read.

    What's the point there?

His records aren't 100% public and you are concerned cuz why?

When Dan Rather (and a host of others) went after Bush's Texas Nat. Guard records it was based on the testimony of fellow officers of Bush's who made allegations of wrong doing - that Bush may have gone AWOL. He had other things on his record DUI and etc) that Alberto Gonzalez wiped clean.
Some things need to be public and some private - even for a president. As an adult you should have a good reason for being afraid - something a little more than, "OMIGOD HIS RECORDS ARE CONCEALED!"
Why is this a concern? How is it different from everybody else? And after Bush of all people. There was a guy who's administration extended presidential secrecy further than any other president in history. You were OK with that, am I right?
So why am I or anybody else to take seriously someone who freaks out at much less when the president in question has a "D" after his name.
In a nutshell it's that "D" that freaks you out.
To paraphrase, "Judge a man by his actions, not his words (or party name)."

Laws of the Territory of Hawaii ACT 96 To Provide For The Issuance Of Certificates Of Hawaiian Birth was in effect from 1911 until 1972 and allowed someone who was born outside the Hawaiian Islands to be registered as though he were born in Hawaii.

Under that law, someone simply would have presented herself to the Hawaiian authorities and declared that the child was born in Hawaii. The person could have sworn under oath and presented witnesses and other evidence. If the authorities accepted it, that was the end of it.

BO is simply hiding behind a technicality and was in fact not born in the USA. Dunham did the same for sister Maya who was born in Jakarta, Dunham registered her as "born in Honolulu" shortly after her birth. Maya has a State of Hawaii Certification of Live Birth, just like Obama!

Actions are speaking louder then words, He's obviously consulting Jimmy Carter for advice.

And therefore, no one born in Hawaii is qualified to be President. Better check on the on the law in other states, too.

Of course, I have it on good authority (websites) that Obama is not only not an American, he is an actual space alien. http://www.iudexonline.com/obama.html

The thing the gets me is this. Let's say Obama was born in Kenya, which he wasn't. Are you disputing his mother's citizenship too? Because if you're born to an American, then you're a natural-born citizen. End of conspiracy theory. Unless the conspiracy extends further back in history, in which case Obama's grandparents' premonition of things to come was truly ... incredible.

Birthers have their own definition of "natural born," although it has not been legally defined. According to their definition, a person is a "natural born" citizen if he or she is born in the United States and both parents are American citizens. The point, they say, is that someone born to a U.S. citizen and a foreign national, even though born on U.S. soil, could be considered a citizen of country of origin of the foreign parent - that person has a "choice" of citizenship.

Not only has this definition not been decided as a matter of law, it ignores the fact that many people born on U.S. soil of parents who are U.S. citizens may have similar citizenship choices. If your grandparents were born in Ireland, for example, you can choose Irish citizenship. If you are of Jewish ancestry, you may be able to claim Israeli citizenship. There could be any number of Americans who are be "natural born citizens" under birthers' definition, who may hold dual citizenship.

Of course, they aren't black, socialist, secret Mooslum, Democrat, antichrist Presidents, either.

You trump up "birther" definitions to mislead. Try referencing the actual laws that apply. The other problem with you premise is that he was born on US soil. That has yet to be proven beyond all doubt.

It's true it has not been tested in court for presidential purposes, as far as I know. However, common sense suggests that "natural born" is the opposite of "naturalized." Regardless of the birth certificate question (which the State of Hawaii has already settled) Obama is clearly a citizen of the U.S., and he was not naturalized. Ergo, he is a natural-born citizen. There's not any gray area in between those two things.

Islam does not allow for conversion to any other religion? I've got to say, if you want to see some serious disallowal, check Catholicism. They will damn you to an eternity of suffering in hell for leaving their prefered faith. I'm actually not sure I've ever encountered a religion which is sanguine about getting it's faithful butt handed to it by some other religion.

Thanks for the lecture, too bad you didn't lead with critical thinking during the last administration, perhaps "Bush is to blame" for everything might have toned down a bit. Now that the table is turned, one might infer from your presentation the new critics or truth squads are all biased. I have seen little critical thinking from the left on the current administration or their congress.

Fox News started to cover this story a year or so ago, then abruptly abandoned it. Abruptly !!!. I saw O'Reilly brush it off so fast it made me realize something much bigger was going on. I do believe there is a powerful, national cover-up going because if this is all true, imagine, just imagine the consequences. I believe even conservatives have decided it is better for the country to just let this play out rather than deal with it. Once again, the Constitution is deemed a "living document" to be massaged and interpreted as a matter of convenience.
