Hey Everyone,
Thought you might be interested to read that the New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution of Brattleboro is fighting against the relicensing of Seabrook Station in Seabrook, NH. I'm sure there are many from the Brattleboro area that participated in the Clamshell Alliance protests over 20 years ago that delayed Seabrook going online for years.

I remember the protests 30 years ago at Seabrook by the Clamshell Alliance. It was pretty wild at the time. Seabrook even made the cover of TIME Magazine which I was not aware of.

Yeah I remember too. At one point when Mel Thompson was governor, probably the best anyone could ever have, he personally flew in on a national guard helicopter dressed in fatigues to order the arrest of protestors.
If we could only have a governonr like that today.

It was a pretty wild time back then. I don't see the protests reaching the same level as they did in the past though. But hey with all the new social media technology it is a lot easier to rally others to a specific cause now so who knows. Seabrook does have a far better track record than VY though so we will see.

I've never particularly cared for NJ other then envying full service cheap gasoline. However I now envy their new Governor. I'm sure any protests in that State would be handled for what it is and not cuddled!

I guess we'll see how successful they will be with the protests this time.
